The water of the Rio Negro (dark) and the muddy brown waters of the Amazon river meet near Manaus. Amazingly, instead of mingling, they run alongside each other with a clear demarcation. It seems to be a place of great fertility with lots of fish and birds diving into the water to feed off them.
