Barbara Hepworth was a genius. It was delightful to wander through her sculptures in such a fantastic setting. So much better than any museum. They were meant to be out here breathing the Yorkshire air.
The three reclining figues look majestic at the top of the hill overlooking the fabulous landscape!
The second Hirst was not quite as big as Pregnant Virgin but was equally as impressive. The girl with a caliper, clutching a teddy and a collection box was quite a statement!
The third Damien Hirst was The Hat Makes The Man. We first glimpsed it from afar and then got right up close!
We went to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on Friday last week. The sun shone on us! The beautiful Yorkshire landscape of Breton Hall was the ideal setting for some of the most glorious sculptures. I’ll put up a lot more over the next few days.
This was Damien Hirst’s Virgin Mother. It was huge! You can see the people at her feet.
It looked fantastic in this setting, beside the lake with the trees and rolling hills. Terrific!!
