Travelling backwards in time,
we find the world we’ve left has changed.
It’s no longer the same as it really was.
Every scene is incomplete –
missing bad bits,
missing good bits,
jumbled up,
confused,
reinvented.
We make it better;
We make it worse;
We make it up;
Based on the fragments
We choose to salvage.

Memory is so fallible. We constantly reinvent it. So much is forgotten and misremembered. Our past is a complete fiction. Nostalgia ain’t what it used to be!
The past is lost in a fog. Even the written reports, photos and documentaries are tainted by our changed perspective.
