From Georgia and Crimea they’ve been getting near
But we blocked our ears.
While we were busy having fun
Putin was busy loading every single gun
We were blind to what had begun.
Interfering with our election run
Stupefying minds as populist Trump won
They even got Brexit done!
Russian money poured in for free
The gullible were targeted with great glee
As they dismantled democracy.
Weakening the EU and the USA
Stirring up division in the UK
Electing incompetent clowns to get their way.
Russian fingerprints are everywhere
From the House of Lords to mansions in Mayfair
Donors to the Tories and Johnson’s clownish hair.
Putin’s taken us for fools.
He’s sponsored all the biggest tools.
Had fingers in all the rules.

Putin is a sick and nasty human being. Like Hitler he has been sitting in his bunker planning how to build his empire. Furious with the break-up of the Soviet Union he has been planning how to rebuild his empire and leave a legacy. He set out to undermine the West.
It did not take much.
He’s been using sweeteners, bribes and blackmail. Enticing the likes of Trump and Johnson into his web. Russian business deals, hookers and coke-fuelled parties. Trump was easily snared. Labrov’s cash and wild parties hooked Johnson and took Labrov into the House of Lords.
The oligarchs bought their way into influence.
Putin rubbed his hands.
Interfering with elections was easy. Putin splashed the cash and an army of hackers spread lies, propaganda and doubt. Mud was raked. They targeted the wavering voters with tailored messages.
Democracy was undermined.
The West’s weaknesses were exposed.
Trump and Johnson did not care.
The Russians made the difference. In tight elections they made the difference. They had their patsy Trump elected and had the photos and recordings with hookers, had the business deals and sweeteners, to blackmail and bribe, to control.
They had managed to get an incompetent fool into the highest office, created huge turmoil and division and badly weakened the USA. Quite a triumph for Putin.
They set about the UK using the same tactics. The Brexit vote was tight. They again targeted swing voters with fear and propaganda. Their aim was to weaken the EU and the UK, to cause hate and division. They succeeded. They not only got Brexit done but also managed to have another incompetent clown and bunch of equally useless extremists elected in the process.
The Russians got Brexit done and elected a prize chump.
Putin isn’t stupid. He’s been planning this for years. With the USA, UK and EU all in chaos, the way was clear to invade Ukraine (just like he’d done with Georgia and Crimea while our backs were turned).
That’s where it started going wrong for Putin. It just goes to show that even the best of plans can go awry.
