Nuclear power. It’s safe!

It’s Safe!!

Windscale and three-mile  Island,

                Fukushima and Chernobyl.

                                Cheap electricity for all.

Carrying out the politicians’ will.

Radiation lies in pools

Liars led by fools.

Everything done on the cheap.

                Meltdowns and illegal dumps.

Cover-ups and shoddy work

                A bunch of incompetent chumps.

Radiation lies in pools

Liars led by fools.

Carrying out experiments

                Everything overloads.

Machinery has limits.

                The core explodes.

Radiation lies in pools

Liars led by fools.

Barrels of waste on fishing grounds.

Their lips never made a sound.

Fall-out dropping from the sky

As denials abound

Covering their backs with neither a what or why.

Radiation lies in pools

Liars led by fools.

Radiation never cools.

Led by a bunch of mules.

We need more electricity.

We must have it on the cheap.

Consequences of no import.

The price might be too steep.

It’s safe.

We bury waste deep underground.

We have the technology now

Everything is safe and sound.

Radiation lies in pools

Liars led by fools.

Trust us!

                We tell the truth!

Trust us!

                Don’t ask for proof!

They had a golden opportunity. Fission energy was the future.

Except they tried to do it on the cheap and when it went wrong they covered it up.

Meltdown after meltdown covered up – Kyshtym (1957), Windscale (1957), Three-Mile Island (1979), Church Rock (1979), Chernobyl (1986) and Fukushima (2011).

In 1957 they fed contaminated milk to children knowing it would cause cancers and deaths just to cover it up.

They dumped nuclear waste in barrels at sea on fishing grounds – because it was cheaper than proper disposal.

The whole world-wide nuclear industry has not covered itself in glory. They lied. They covered up. They cut corners. Did things on the cheap. They sacrificed thousands of innocent victims.

How can we trust them?

The electricity produced is expensive. The process produces enriched material for bombs.

They squandered our trust with lies.
