Sold and Bought
Evil looks for a foothold,
Poisoned by greed,
By profiteering
And the hunt for gold.
Nature reels as avarice kicks,
Destroyed by lust
By deceit
And the lies of old.
A minority feeds off us
No hint of compassion,
Callous and selfish,
As we are bought and sold.

There are a small number of people who run the world. They bribe and threaten their way to what they want. They prey on us.
Politicians are bought and sold – but for a far higher price than us.
Forget high ideals like the planet and alleviating suffering.
The only consideration is cash.
Modern-day life is a form of prostitution.
