This one made me laugh.
I’ve set out three times to read Ulysses by James Joyce. Each time I’ve got 50 pages in and lost the will to live.
Yet I have encountered people who read me passages and make it sound wonderful. One day!
I’ve given up on Moby Dick too! Did manage Swann’s Way though – very proud!!
Why do I collect books??
Ulysses, Moby Dick, and Beowulf were the books that caused me to stop reading. Hearing teachers painfully read these books aloud in class made it worse. Thank goodness there are teachers today who read aloud good books to their students, with passion.
I like to finish a book even if I don’t like it. I feel that that way I can put it out of my mind. Ulysses and Moby Dick were the only ones I’ve given up on!
