Lighnin’ Hopkins was the first Blues guy that I got into. I was fourteen and my mate Dick kept playing me this old ember album called Lightn’n’ Strikes (he had about 4 albums named that!). It was very echoey and atmospheric and I grew to love the guitar. From there it was Howlin’ Wolf, Elmore James, Maddy Waters and John Lee Hooker………………
I’ve never stopped loving the blues. I always go back to it.
