The Falklands – Bluff Cove, battle zone, sea, penguins and Sea Cabbage Cafe.

It was surreal visiting Bluff Cove. It had been the scene of a battle during the Falklands war. Troops had stormed on to that beach. It was hard to imagine. A desolate sandy shore, penguins, orange lichen, big rollers and a little cafe – was this the scene of bullets and bombs?

Shows how stupid and nuts we humans are.

  1. Shows how stupid and nuts we humans are.

Shows how stupid and nuts the political system is, under which we are forced to live. Along with those that run it, of course.

      1. Well, I didn’t vote them in, Opher. I haven’t voted in a general election since 1987. I would have voted last year for the (ex) Brexit candidate if he had stood as an Independent, but he chose not to.

      2. So you allow the brainwashed morons to win the day?
And you still think Brexit was a good idea? To put an extreme bunch of Eton toffs in charge and bankrupt the country?

    1. It was a place of great beauty Anthony – though, talking to the locals, we did catch it in a fine spell of weather and it is more often overcast and extremely blustery. I can imagine your brother-in-law would see it differently. I’m not sure anyone would be noticing the aesthetics with explosions all around and bullets zinging past your ears.
      It’s well worth a visit.

      1. It was quite reasonably priced. A small company that did budget trips in small, old ships – but still quality! A bit rough at times but spectacular. Unfortunately, they have gone out of business!

      2. Wow! By ship! My brother in law went on the QE2 back in the early 80’s. Apparently they had left all the champagne and drinks on board although the accommodation had been stripped down to basics. More recently he went back for a re-union on a very basic army flight.

I'd like to hear from you...
