The Falkland Islands -photos

The land looked flat, though there were some rocky hills, and the beaches sandy with dunes and green hummocks. We could just make out penguins on the shore. We were heading for Port Stanley. There is was – looking a bit like a shanty town.

  1. Thats very remote. How did you get there? I’m amazed you have traveled so much. Is there any place in the world you’d like to visit that you haven’t?

    1. Hi Frangipani – yes I’ve been very privileged to be able to travel. We went on a small ship around South America and the Falklands. A fabulous trip.
I’ve still got a bucket list of places. I want to go to the Antarctic and Iceland, the Galapagos and Easter Island, Iceland, Norway, New Zealand – there’s no end. I love travelling and photographing.

    2. Oh – and I’d like to go into Central Africa and see more of the wildlife, explore Patagonia, Central America and more of Australia and the USA. There’s no end!

      1. Lovely bucket list! Hope you get to travel again soon, and safely. Covid-19 has effectively shut borders hasn’t it? Probably another 6 to 12 months before some gradual opening up takes place.

      2. I’m hopeful Frangi! I love to travel. We shall see. What about you? Have you any plans or places in mind?

      3. I love to travel too, especially for the chance to appreciate natural scenes and animals in their habitats. I think when covid lifts I’ll stick to “safer” countries such as Japan or China first. The safari and Northern lights are on my list though I’ll be quite happy with substitutes.

      4. Travel is addictive. I want to see places and experience it. Japan and China are great and I’d love to go on safari again! Roll on the end of this pandemic!
