My latest visit to https://randomwordgenerator.com netted bin. So thinking about what one could put into a bin, or rather, into an acrostic poem based on the word … wouldn’t it be great to dump the virus but – failing that miracle – maybe dream of binning politicians who took their eyes off the ball?

Britannia waives the rules, reacts too late.
Invisible, her foe sneaks through the gate.
Now every plan has passed its use-by date.

OK, I suppose, but nobody has described the feeling of ‘if only’ better than the poet Philip Larkin so I’ll leave him the last word:
