That was a great post. Truthfully, I don’t think most people care if we have peace or not. All they care about is that the “war” (whatever brand it is) doesn’t touch their little world. I’m guilty of that. We are so deadened to murders, for example. I read about them in the paper or hear about them on the news. But none ever touched me — until… Until my daughter-in-law’s aunt was stabbed to death on her porch while outside smoking a cigarette. Suddenly it got very real.
I think a lot of people are actually excited by war. They like the idea of going out there and kicking other people.
That must have been very scary what happened to your daughter-in-laws aunt. Very real.
Yeah. They caught the man who did it and he’s in prison. His family is trying to get him out. He was strung out at the time.
That’s no excuse is it? That’s what worries me about knives and particularly guns. If you allow a population to arm itself and carry arms, because it makes individuals feel safe, it puts the weapons in the hands of people who might be deranged, emotionally unstable, criminal or psychologically messed up. You are effectively arming the very ones who should never have access to a weapon.
Yep. You’re preaching to the choir…
Yeah I have a habit of doing that. My wife constantly kicks me. I have very sore shins.
