There is something chilling about the cold-blooded murder of an innocent person through the brutal method of beheading. It is not a human thing to do. That is precisely why they do it. They wish to horrify and sicken.
It is beyond me how anyone can believe that it is a religious act sanctified by any god or defended by any religious texts. The Jihadists have to select carefully and distort the texts in order to get what they want out of them. But that is what religious fanatics have spent thousands of years doing. They seek out phrases they can use to justify their subhuman barbarity. That is unfortunately nothing new.
Kenji Goto and Haruna Yakawa were shown no mercy. Kenji was made to hold up Haruna’s severed head. Yet they showed great bravery in the face of this cowardly treatment. I send my condolences to their poor families and salute their bravery.
The people carrying out these terrible crimes are psychopaths. The callous inhumanity of their acts is attracting other psychopaths to the cause. The indoctrination process has created ruthless killers whose cruelty is almost beyond belief. Religion? Islam? Their actions show the moral vacuity of faith.
These people are intent on imposing sharia law on everyone. They wish to impose their distorted view of religion on the world. That is true megalomania!
They are on a hopeless cause but it is one that I fear will produce a lot more blood and agony before their primitive ideology is consigned to the dustbin.
