Poetry – Feathered Dinosaurs

Feathered Dinosaurs

The feathered dinosaurs

Chirped and sang ferociously;

Crying for a mate,

Warning off rivals

Claiming territory.

Their coloured plumage

A bold statement.

Talons gripping tightly

Their beaks a throwback

To the time when

Their huge ancestors

Strode boldly.

Do you see the Tyrannosaurus

In your chicken?

The stegosaurus in your wren?

But yes,

The dinosaurs did not all die

They walk, and fly, again!
