Hell’s Angels – Roy Harper

Today I think I’ll have a bit of a Harper day. Hell’s Angels was impudently recorded as a request from EMI for a single. There was no way EMI would release this as a single.

It was a late-night session with the Nice in EMI Abbey Road studios. The track was actually the run-through. Following the first run through there was a telephone call with Keith Emmerson’s girlfriend in floods of tears and he had to split. They decided to keep it as it was.

Sounds good! I think Roy enjoyed rocking out on that electrified guitar!
