Australia – Rocks, Beaches, warm seas, Lighthouses and the bush – South West Rocks

Warm sun, empty beaches, nature, warm water – a beer, friends and nature all around. What could possibly be better??

Australia – South West Rocks – exploring the coves.

On our first day we set off for a walk around to get a handle on the area. The coastline had a number of coves with sandy beaches. Kangaroos resting in among the vegetation, birds and incredible Australian flowers.

Along the river Wharfe through the woods.

We walked up through the woods, away from Bolton Abbey. It was a fine summer day at the very end of August. A beautiful day in Yorkshire. The scenery was superb. We crawl on the skin of a small planet – it’s wonderful. Flowers, trees and roots.

The Leeds Liverpool canal on a sunny day!!

Yorkshire is green and beautiful. When the sun is shining there is nowhere better. The canal wends its way through some amazing scenery. I couldn’t stop taking shots.

The last shot is of where we stayed.

Walking in the Yorkshire Dales – photos

Walking through the beauty of the countryside is very uplifting. But this isn’t really nature. This is managed for farming. The trees have been cleared. This is still, beautiful though it is, part of the factory!

The Yorkshire Dales – ancient churches, cottages and green rolling hills.

We visited an old church which contained some old stain glass, a carving of a crusader sword, a chunk of a Saxon Cross and a Norman font. Interesting.

There was also a Roll of Honour for the dead from the two world wars. Young men who gave their lives for what?

They thought it was freedom; was it really greed? Or preserving the gross inequality? Keeping the wealthy rich? Or was it power and control? I suppose that depends on your viewpoint.

Outside the church there was life – flowers and beautiful green rolling hills.

What a shame that we humans have so much, want so much more and make such a mess.
