The tools of power
Throwing bodies into battle
it’s the barbaric way.
Forget civilisation.
That only gets in the way.
Forget the literature,
the plays and the ballet.
Reality is nasty death
in every dark valley.
The paranoid megalomaniacs
are the ones that rule.
Forget lessons of peace
you may have learnt in schools.
People are deployed
as their disposable tools.
It’s not hard to see
that the world is run by fools.
So, throw your body into war,
your blood into the ground.
And know that they are using you
as you breathe your very last sound.
