Leonard Cohen is another of those great singer songwriters that I have been enjoying for the past fifty plus years. I first discovered him on the vinyl sampler The Rock Machine Turns You On back in 1967. There were a lot of good things on that sampler. I have everything the guy has ever released along with tens of bootleg concerts.
You think that you know someone inside out until you get to research them for a book. That’s when your life gets taken over, delving, finding out the interesting stories, searching for the snippets. I’ve uncovered all manner of details that put different perspectives on what I thought I knew. I love it.
I am currently writing about 3000 words a day on this Leonard Cohen project and unearthing all manner of interesting facts.
Unfortunately there is no money in it but the satisfaction is great. Writing is very fulfilling. By autumn I will have eight books out with SonicBond Press. That’s great. Love it. I am being given contracts to write about all my favourite people!! What could be better?
