Why Aren’t we applying Windfall Taxes??

Both the oil companies and power companies have been making extraordinary, unexpectedly massive profits.

We have been thrown into a cost-of-living crisis. We have multiple unions on strike and masses of low-pay workers forced to use food banks.

The government say that the country can’t afford to pay people fairly so they have to freeze and starve. Rough sleeping has shot through the now nonexistent roof.

Without going into the obvious impact of the stupid Brexit deal isn’t it obvious that, in order to prevent this great hardship (and boost the economy) a windfall tax on both oil and power company exorbitant profits would alleviate the problem.
