Today’s Music to keep me EAns in Isolation – The Pogues

I think you can call the Pogues Celtic Punk. They used traditional Irish instruments but produced music that was wild and crazy with great interpretations of traditional Irish songs, McColl and Bogle. Shane MacGowan, with the black teeth, was the idiosyncratic lead singer. The band had a political edge.

I had the privilege of seeing Eric Bogle play this. One of the best anti-war songs ever written. Shane was born to sing it!!
