Poetry – Lockdown Fever

Lockdown Fever

We’ve got the lockdown fever.

We’re climbing up the wall.

The government pulled the lever.

Crowds fill up the mall.

We’re full of anger and apathy.

We just want to hit the scene.

It’s coming out in psychopathy.

So grouchy and mean.

Hibernation’s over.

We don’t listen anymore.

We’re singing ‘The Wild Rover’

Heading straight out the door.

We need retail therapy.

Come on – it’s party time!

All of us agree.

Start knocking back the wine!

Throwing caution to the wind.

The government’s lost control.

Common sense has been binned.

No-ones listening at all.
