The Longhua Temple and Pagoda in Shanghai China – Photos

On to Shanghai and a walk around. We visited a park. I was rather taken with the rules (written in English). We refrained from fouling the park and did not eat any of the wildlife.

The next stop was the Longhua Temple and Pagoda – apparently having survived the Cultural Revolution.

I was particularly taken with these psychedelic Buddhas floating around in wispy ether.

Apparently the roofs point up at the ends to prevent evil spirits landing on them.

I find Chinese architecture and customs fascinating – probably because they are so different.

The pagoda was rather splendid.
