Poetry – I need a lepidopterist

I need a lepidopterist

I need an abdominal lepidopterist.

My life is in a twist!

It feels like I’m in free-fall.

I can’t seem to think at all.

When you’re not around I’m OK.

I can think of all the things I want to say.

But as soon as you come near

I’m paralysed with fear.

My mind goes blank,

Stomach tumbles,

Tongue frozen,

Thoughts all jumbled.

I must confess

I’m a mess.
