The Corona Diaries – Day 46.

Tuesday finds me on Day 46. I’m still not ill yet! Sometimes it feels like there is no reason to be in this lockdown. Nobody in the village seems to have it! But today I heard from two friends who reported deaths from Covid-19. One lost a sister and the other a neighbour. It sort of brings you up short. They weren’t in the village but they were not that far away. There is a killer out there – lurking.

The other question that comes to mind is how would we do if we went down with it? Would we have a mild flu, be really ill or end up on a ventilator – or die? There’s no way of telling. It’s all about your body chemistry and the dose you get!

I am hoping that as we go further along they will find better ways of treating people. Otherwise we’re going to be in lockdown for a hell of a long time!

So today I put on my Kinks at full volume – I’ve heard it is almost as effective as UV or disinfectant for killing the virus!! In my head I’ll be fifteen again!!

We went for our walk under overcast skies. It has now brightened up!

We prepared to paint the stairwell! It’s a bit of a mammoth task. I’ll be up those big ladders tomorrow!

Right now I’m busy writing – my new poetry book and the Roy Harper!

It’s my turn to cook the dinner today – we’re having duck with roast potatoes and cauliflower. Yum. (I’ll probably burn it!)

  1. Glad to hear you’re still well and safe, Opher! We are as well. As you say, it is truly scary. Once the vaccine is available I saw a poll of Canadians saying that 40% believe that the vaccine should be voluntary. Of course, most people will get it and some will refuse. Those morons will get it and society will pay dearly. Sigh.

    1. I despair of these idiots John. This is a new age of ignorance, people who do not believe in science, who would rather believe in superstition, propaganda and conspiracy theories.
It’s one thing to be cynical; it’s quite another to be a fool.
