It’s been a busy day today. I got up early and did a second coat in the hall to finish it off. This isolation is sure proving to be a busy time. The whole house will be done before it’s over!
The Stones were belting out! That Exile On Mainstreet is a great album.
We then did our daily exercise – a three hour walk to Driffield and back up the beck. A little overcast and still a cool breeze but it was warm enough!
It is a beautiful walk that goes past a site of scientific interest – a nice bit of marshy land with ponds, the river and canal. Frogs were croaking, ducklings scudding, moorhens displaying, swans gliding, ducks flying, white egrets fishing. Beautiful.
We were lucky enough to see a water vole swim past right in front of us. On the way back there was a wonderful grey heron on the bank that flew off over the canal Then a buzzard started circling over our heads. It was obviously hoping one of us was going to die from exhaustion. Fortunately we didn’t.
On the virus front – we are still showing no symptoms – but that isn’t surprising – we’re not going anywhere to pick up the virus. We have our food delivered.
The news is full of what is happening in the care homes. The elderly are being left to die. If they are over seventy five they are not taken to hospital but left to live or die in the home without proper medical attention. That seems to go against the whole ethos of the NHS! Scandalous!! The Tories have a lot to answer for!
I reckon the next thing that will come out are the DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) orders that many of these older people were coerced into signing!!
There is talk of vaccines and medicines. We’ll see. I’m not holding my breath.
I’m looking at this to last until at least October – if not next year!
