Poetry – Looking through a window

Looking through a window

I’m looking through a window

Back into the past

To snatch a glimpse

Of what we were.

I can almost imagine.

I’m watching John and Yoko

Through a spyhole

Back to the days of my youth.

I can feel a little of how I used to feel.

In those days of possibility.

It now feels so strange

To think the dream is over.

I was dreaming of the past

We never knew it wouldn’t last.

Opher – 3.1.2020

I was watching a TV documentary about John and Yoko. It was like peering back fifty years to a different world. It transported me.

I can remember the ideals, the dreams and the aspirations.

Fifty years has come and gone. John will never grow old. But our dreams grow old.
