Well for two and a half years now we have had to put up with May and the extreme right wing telling us what Brexit means. They acted as if they could peer into the minds of every one of the 17 million Brexit voters and know exactly why they voted as they did.
They are in no doubt. Brexit means Brexit.
Their view of Brexit means the most extreme form.
They ignore the views of half the population and assume the other half think like them.
THEY ARE WRONG!!
People had all sorts of reasons for voting Brexit. Some used it as a protest against austerity. Some wanted to give Cameron a bloody nose. Some wanted sovereignty. Some wanted an end to immigration. Some despised the EU and thought it undemocratic. Some wanted to secure our borders.
BUT THERE WAS NO MAJORITY IN THE COUNTRY FOR ANY ONE THING!!
BREXIT NEVER MEANT BREXIT!
Now, at last, we are seeing that there are many types of Brexit and the MPs are getting a choice.
There is Norway +
Canada
Crashing out
and a handful more!
We can stay in the Single Market.
We can stay in the Customs Union.
We can stay in both or neither.
It is quite complex.
If only May had not fawned to the extreme ERG and had not pushed the button we could have discussed these options at length, understood their impact on the country and decided which type of Brexit we wanted.
How stupid is it that we’re finally doing it literally days before we’re meant to be leaving?
Has any leader ever made a bigger cock-up of the whole business. May is a complete imbecile. She really thought she could just steamroller it through.
Whatever the outcome – it is TIME FOR THE PEOPLE TO DECIDE!!
