We had to get up in the middle of the night in order to get to the top of the canyon where the Condors were.
The enormous birds were roosting on the rocks.
As the sun started warming the air there were thermals coming up the valley and the birds took off and circled round, sometimes swooping down over our heads so that you could reach out and touch them. It was magical.
The only trouble was that they were incredibly hard to get a good shot off. Most of my shots were blurred. I needed a better camera!!
