One Day – a poem

One Day

One day it will not be like this.

We will have grown wiser.

One day we will not elect psychopaths.

We will be compassionate.

One day we will be united.

We will respect the world around us.

One day will come.

I like to dream that we can make the world a better place. But we do keep putting our faith in those unpleasant psychopaths. We keep allowing our greed to run away with us.

One day we will have a treatment for that aggressive violent type of person. We’ll have a pill for psychopaths, sociopaths and narcissists.

  1. I agree, Opher, but we must begin at home with ourselves. Why do we demand behaviour from our governments that we do not display in our personal lives? How insane is that? I’m no expert, but I’m thinking that mental illnesses are not learned but are genetically determined. I don’t think it’s possible to teach a psychopath to not be a psychopath.

    1. John – I think some mental illness is genetically determined. Some might be due to a learnt/environmental cause. Whatever it is I am sure that it can be helped by a caring, compassionate environment – good upbringing, good schooling and sound support in the community.
Psychopaths need caring for – not electing.
