There is no excuse for poverty in this day and age. We have more than enough to go round. The only reason for poverty is that the wealthy and powerful choose to retain it. They create a world of gross inequality.
It doesn’t have to be that way. We can make a fairer world.
I am not talking communism, where everyone is the same. I am not talking complete equality. I am talking about fairness created out of less inequality.
There is no reason why any child should starve or be consigned to play in sewage. Yet tens of millions do.
I think that this mass poverty is used to exploit billions for cheap labour. It is a breeding ground for radicalisation, terrorism and the cause of mass migration.
It is time we eradicated it!
