Distraction – a poem

Distraction

They turn us against each other

Brother against brother

To keep the attention

Away from them.

Speaking words most solemnly

Reciting law and verse religiously

Hypocritically

Spouting Amen.

By turning us against each other they turn the attention away from what they are doing.

They are bleeding us dry.

The establishment have rigged the system in order to funnel profits into the pockets of the rich.

They would rather we didn’t notice.

They would rather we were distracted.

They would rather we fought among ourselves

    1. Partly it’s a ploy and partly it’s human nature. People who have similar beliefs fight harder against each other than against those with very different beliefs. It’s like playing a derby match. The Shia and Sunni are classic examples as are the catholics and protestants.
