I’m not that keen on U2 but this was great. Building a wall is not only a crazy idea but it is symbolic of an attitude. Isolationism and separation are poor ideas.

  2. That was a hell of a video! Hazarding a guess here that he doesn’t like the strumpet! So what’s up with Bono? Everyone here seems to love him. Is he not a good guy?

    1. I think the general opinion is that he thinks a little too highly of himself and does not live up to the ideals he professes.
      I’m not mad keen on him or U2 but I don’t dislike them.
      I think the video did display a tiny bit of antipathy towards him. I’d deduce that they probably don’t like Trump too much or what he stands for.

    1. Possibly. It depends where you get your facts and figures from. Everything has bias. Sometimes intuition is a better guide.
      Ultimately there are no facts – only views. Things are generally extremely complex and nuanced. The ‘facts’ don’t always tell the truth.
      The ‘facts’ emerging about Trumps involvement with Russia and extreme sexism are maybe proof?

        You will find tons on non-agenda commentators out there.
        By no means is everything left or right wing.
        We tend to automatically assume that it must be so in our little enclave. That’s a mistake.
        Thankfully there’s a wealth of breadth of knowledge out there that doesn’t get mainstream exposure – for very obvious reasons.
        They are remote to any manifesto – but the analysis of what is actually going down. Multiple questions are raised.

        Needless to say there are multiple examples of Clinton’s misdemeanors over the years. They are fact.
        Court cases are seldom fraudulent. Reports of penalties imposed also.
        She’s been involved in wanton corruption and downright free loading crooked activity since at least 1994, when she had her powers to practice law removed from her.
        That doesn’t happen to that many legal professionals – to be struck off the bar like that, for life. It must be serious for that to happen.
        Feel free to trust her word. I wouldn’t and would probably be best served dodging the bullets from her henchmen.

        I like to know more about this “extreme” sexism. Was he like tying them up and doing the red snapper on them or what?
        Or did he simply pass on a few by not giving them the job or promotion.
        Or in exasperation, did he make defamatory or inflammatory comments?
        Will we really get to know the truth.

        There’s a shed load of bastard bitchy women out there who just hate men. That’s a fact, isn’t it?
        They’ll say anything to get attention.

        If that’s the case, I therefore, too, also must surely should be accused of exactly the very same “offences”. I bounced loads of women because they just didn’t have what it takes at a certain level. They just didn’t possess the required level of acumen. They talked it but couldn’t walk it.
        They are indeed a different species at times. They can’t take a telling off without feeling that it’s “personal” or anti-women etc. Too many hold that fucking joker card and play it on every turn.
        We guys, all we got is our ability, acumen, knowledge and credibility. We don’t get jobs coz we’ve got a nice pair of tits and a sluts smile. Many women, whether they like it or not, realise it or not, are in jobs simply for how they look.
        As base level as that is – it is true. That’s the relationship men have with women.
        Hence, why the fat bird with specs never got asked up for a dance at the disco, right?
        It’s how the cookie crumbles.
        But too many Cookie’s grumble when they are subjected to tough calls to get their acts together in business roles they may not be too readily suited for.

        So on that basis, I can forgive him for that. I can fully understand his frustrations as I’ve been there too.
        I spent my working life surrounded by women. I seldom ever had any problems. But when you do – jeezuz-h-christ, didn’t I fucking know about it! These devils will tear you apart with their teeth. They are feral with jealous instinct. When they see a colleague getting a promotion – it’s WW3 and some.

        I can’t see him abusing young women in the Oval Suite, were he in office. I think he’s somewhat of a more serious individual for that caper.

        If you stand aside from all that bullshit – as I do – the guy has a great deal to offer. He could make a deal with the devil.
        He may very well have the ability to address the job properly.
        He has nothing of himself to prove – he’s already done that.
        What impressed me most about him recently was his open attitude regards these tin-pot dictators out there. Be it North Korea or Sudan, wherever. He wants to negotiate in terms that work. Not playing politics, vying for ground swells of pseudo-Americanism jingo wrecking crew policy.
        He’s the first to object to that.
        He’s a big picture player.
        All Clinton knows is how to scurry around the senate, ridding everybody and anybody not on her scale of approval. She’s a con artist of the highest order.
        She harbours some extremely anti-social views and dusts off the complaints and accusations with that sickly smile of hers, with her cold steely eyes, reading “you’re dead, pal”.
        Trump means what he says.
        He feels the need to secure passage and transport of peoples until he gets the house in order.
        What would you do?
        I look at it as I said, like say Glastonbury.
        Gotta ticket? Welcome!

Both Clinton and Trump are guilty of all kinds of crap. But this election has never been about the issues. And when it comes down to it we are left to vote for the lesser of two evils in this country. But one thing I firmly believe. A man who does not respect women (since it was from a woman he came), will have no respect for anyone save himself. It is the height of narcissism. And those people in this country who think Trump would be their political knight in shining armor are a bunch of foolish sheeple. There are other things that are apparent as well. And that has trickled down to young girls in the schools who now are finding themselves totally unacceptable per Trump’s view of beauty, and bullys in the classrooms who think they can do and say anything they want. People who think kids don’t know what’s going on this election are just plain dimwitted. Kids are smart. They watch. They know. They take their cues from role models and act the same way.       3. Well I hope you’re supporting a lost cause. If Trump gets in it will create a different ethos in the country and that is not one I would like to live under. I don’t like the ethos that May is putting out (all her stupid division through Faith Schools and reporting on foreigners – I find it extremely disturbing) but Trump would be something else again.
        You see it is the same as Brexit – it is not about the facts – it’s about the psychological effect it has on people. You seem great at facts but you don’t pick up on the bigger psychology. That comes with intuition. Whether you like it or not Brexit made all the racists and xenophobes bolder and gave them official backing to abuse. It shuts peoples minds off from looking out and creates a barrier between us and Europe that it in the mind. It supports the view that we are better than Johnny foreigner. That stinks.
        If Trump were to win it sends out even worse messages. His aggression, belligerence, bullying, sexism, arrogance and racism will be officially sanctioned. That to me is more important.
        Clinton is a crook. So is Trump. The facts are just beginning to emerge about his tax evasion and bad business practice. He didn’t pay any tax for two years. I’m a pensioner and I can’t avoid paying tax. He should be locked up.
        You say you are not biased. But we all are. You say you get all your facts from internet sources that tell the truth. But they’ve all got an angle.

        I so agree, Opher. Both of these political farces have been about getting people to look OUTSIDE (not in the way you’re referring to) at something outrageous, not INSIDE where their intuition is. Carl Jung said, “He who looks outside dreams; he who looks inside awakes.” More than anything these political dramas have kept folks’ focus outside where their common sense can’t reach. They have sought to turn out countries in to herds of sheeple.

      6. I agree with you Cheryl. I think terrorism, immigration and fear have been deployed to manipulate and divide people. Both Brexit and Trump are connected. They both have a similar psychology.

    It’s not the rhetoric but the way the media works. The reporting mediums have never before been on the scale that they are today. Go back 20 years and the level of instant report and commentary would have been an impossibility.

    Wrong, very wrong. When I see your complete bias I simply counter it with the opposite. You’d do well to give more consideration to these opposites. Do look for yourself. There’s a vast amount of down-the-middle (an anathema to your psychological state, I realise) commentary that tells it for what it is. There need not be any angle or agenda. There are many of us who hold no truck with leftist/rightist views.

      I personally know of friends who have experienced that sea-change in attitude first-hand on busses and at work – not by rabid British Movement thugs either. There is a change of psychology which is affecting ordinary people. It isn’t helped by May’s gestapo instructions to businesses to keep records of nationality.
      This is moving into an unpleasant racist, xenophobic minset. It has not only given licence to the Fascist bully-boys but is affecting everyone else as well.
      I know from running an institution how important the psychology and ethos is. When you change a Headteacher it is often the case that the whole school changes. Same with football teams.
      Strangely – I’ve never been political per se. I’m not a rabid supporter of any party. I vote Labour because I believe in the ethos of fairness and most of the policies put forward. I’m more interested in the social aspects than the political machinations. You make huge assumptions that are unfounded.
      Unlike you I believe in speaking my mind and trying to change things for the better.
