They didn’t know what team would show up. They do now!!

Hull were majestic!!

Fabulous goal by Diame!!!

They controlled the game. They outplayed Sheffield and should have had a couple more!!

What a great performance!!

Bring on Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and Leicester!!  we’re going top!! (Or am I getting a little carried away here?)

  1. I’m not ashamed to admit that I know absolutely nothing about football these days. In my teenage years we would go to many Rangers and Celtic home games – they never both played at home on the same Saturday. The violence was sensational! Quite what I was doing by being there is beyond me now. We had to take Kagools stuffed in our back pockets to the Celtic games as when Celtic scored all the cans full of piss would be thrown up to the rafters and shower back down. This section of the ground was named the “Jungle”. You become used to the violence after a while – not that I was ever involved, but the parting shot for us was witnessing a Celtic supporter being cut in half with a Samurai sword by another Celtic fan outside the ground after a testimonial match. We never went back.

    1. Sounds terrible. I have fonder memories of Walton and Hersham, Tottenham and Manchester United. I managed to see George Best give a display of brilliance.
I enjoy a game of football minus the urine and stupidity, the violence and madness.
I’m just really chuffed for Hull. In our time of being the city of culture we will be top of the premiership (I’ve always been optimistic).

      1. In my first London days we’d go to Tottenham. The fans seemed so sedate to what I had been used to up north.
I saw Best several times in his latter days with Hibs and he was still the best player on the pitch. Even most of the opposition fans would roar when he got the ball. Everybody loved him. I reckon he could double an attendance figure.
Well if Leicester can do it….

      2. There were some nutters in Tottenham too but we did not have too much bother.
Great shame about Best. The alcohol did him in. If he had taken care of himself he would have played a lot longer. Even when he was unfit, bloated and probably still pissed he could run rings round people. I’m glad I saw him. He was a marvel.
